Ritchard and I played a game today. we did the Market of the Horn Scenario.
He stayed with The Kahliman Republic. his team consisted of the Seik, 2 sulamen and 3 archers.
I went with the Empire of the Jade Triad. I ran Captain Fu Nihao, 2 cobra guard shadows, a lancer, 2 archers and an alchemist of the school of the long breath.
the first turn saw me drawing with my alchemist and moving forward. while he strayed back with all but his sulamen and shot me up with his archers.
turn 2 he killed the captain and one archer. I killed one sulaman and damaged one of his archers.
turn 3 saw me decimate his forces with my shadows. he lost the Seik, and an archer and there was massive damage to his troops. he shot some more and did some damage.
turn 4 saw me use my alchemist to disable his salmon and an archer, and then kill the archer with a shadow. he fought with his salmon and shot my lancer to death.
turn 5 he disengaged with his sulaman and fought with his now engaged and damaged archer.
turn 6 was the death of his archer and more damage to the sulaman (now all but dead).
turn 7 Richard conceded the win when I explained my plan to disengage and score scenario points .
I learned that the alchemists can change the game. and that shooting (especially the Tauregs ) is indeed good.
